LuxuryWeb Magazine is an independent magazine published by Melanie Votaw and dedicated to international travel, food/wine, and entertainment. LuxuryWeb was founded by Manos Angelakis and Barbara Angelakis. and it was previously part of ISV Interactive (Europe) Ltd.

We are dedicated to integrity, so if we accept samples for review or free/subsidized hotel stays or trips, we disclose that. And even if we do accept financial assistance to write about something, our allegiance is always to our readers. We don’t recommend anything unless we truly believe it’s worth recommending.

We also don’t use AI (artificial intelligence) to write our stories. If you have reason to believe a writer has used AI for their story, please contact us.

What is Luxury?

Luxury is, in our view, an indefinable quality. Governmental bodies and industry associations have attempted to objectively define what is luxurious and what is not. In the hotel industry, for example, governments award stars, indicating the level of luxury, by setting minimum limits as to the size of rooms and public spaces and the cost of furnishings and amenities. That, according to them, defines the level of luxury. Yet, what is not taken into consideration is the level and quality of service in the hotel, the expertise and attitude of management and staff, and the overall ambiance.

Our US mailing list has 2,970 qualified readers that have requested to be notified every month when a new issue is uploaded (note: the double opt-in mailing list is cleaned and updated monthly).

We are currently working toward restoring our original readership averages of 27,080 unique addresses per month, viewing an average of more than 40,800 pages divided into two servers, one in the US the other in Europe. Average over 2 million hits per month according to Alexa.

The top countries are: United States (61.7%), United Kingdom (England, Scotland, N. Ireland) 6%, Italy 8%, Spain 6%, Australia & New Zealand 1%, Portugal 2%, Morocco 2%, Turkey 3%, People’s Republic of China 3%, Greece 1%. Other countries that contribute readership are: Argentina, France, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and India.
