A lakeside tasting, tapas overlooking the vines, or a coastal weekend with wine and a walk-through town: November’s New Jersey Wine Month is an invitation to explore the Garden State one glass at a time. Five regional itineraries pair winery and ciderhouse visits with local food, nearby towns and overnight stays, giving visitors ready-made plans for a fall day trip or weekend getaway.
Created by Access Wine Country, the itineraries connect 15 winery and ciderhouse stops across five New Jersey regions, from Warren County’s country roads to Cape May’s coastal vineyards. Each route features three destinations, maps and practical planning tips to help visitors choose where to taste, eat and explore.

For visitors from New York City, Philadelphia, and eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey wine country offers easy day-trip options and weekend escapes. Choose a region close to home for a day of tasting and dining, or head farther afield for an overnight getaway. North and Central Jersey offer convenient options for the New York City area and eastern Pennsylvania, while the southern routes make natural outings from Philadelphia. Cape May offers a coastal weekend escape for visitors traveling from farther north.

“New Jersey Wine Month encourages people to explore local wineries, but many visitors still like help deciding where to go and what else to do while they are there,” said Christopher Principato, editor of Access Wine Country. “Our goal is to connect wineries with nearby restaurants, attractions, and accommodations so visitors can enjoy a complete wine country experience and discover everything New Jersey has to offer.”

The five suggested routes are:
- North Jersey Wine Country: Four Sisters Winery, Little Ridge Vineyards, and Alba Vineyard.
- Central Jersey Wine Country: Ironbound Farm & Ciderhouse, Angelico Winery, and Old York Cellars.
- South Jersey & Jersey Shore Wine Country: Fox Hollow Vineyards, Cream Ridge Winery, and Laurita Winery.
- South Jersey & Philadelphia Area Wine Country: Tomasello Winery, Autumn Lake Winery, and Sharrott Winery.
- Cape May Wine Country: Natali Vineyards, Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery, and Cape May Winery.

Visitors can explore vineyard tastings, winery dining, lakeside settings and coastal wine country, with opportunities to choose bottles for Thanksgiving and holiday gifts. The Central Jersey itinerary also features The Union Hotel in downtown Flemington as an overnight option for a Hunterdon County getaway.
The routes are self-guided and can be enjoyed in one day or spread across a weekend. Visitors should confirm hours, reservations and event requirements with each destination and arrange a designated driver or transportation.
