Our Pledge Against AI Slop

Christopher Elliott reported this week that AI (artificial intelligence) bots are now being used to post fake 5-star hotel reviews, and some properties are even using AI to create fake photos of the exterior and interior of their hotels. So beware!

I have also read several accounts of people who have used AI to create itineraries, only to find that some of the addresses or sites don’t exist.

A group of three hikers became stranded this past week on Mount Shasta in California because they relied on Gemini AI for their route and packing list. They had to be rescued.

Just so you know, LuxuryWeb Magazine doesn’t use AI for our stories or photos. We are old school and believe in real reporting, real people, and real experiences.

I was asked by a local friend if I wanted to have lunch at the best Portuguese restaurant in the city, and we ended there. And I will agree, the food there is classic Portuguese and outstanding.

Hotel Review: Mövenpic Mansour Eddahbi, Marrakech, Morocco

The Mövenpick Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech, an ACCOR hotel, is a business hotel that seems to be geared mostly toward corporate meetings and business travel. It’s an outstanding facility for that type of business, but I’m not sure an individual leisure traveler would really be very happy being among a throng of corporate meeting attendees.
