Manta Sleep recently sent me a complimentary SOUND v2 sleep mask to try out and report back to you. It’s a soft and good looking mask with C-shaped eye cups that allow you to block out light 100%. It’s fully adjustable so that the thin Bluetooth® speakers can be adjusted until they’re right over your ears, and the strap is ventilated for airflow. Sound v2 retails for $159 and is engineered for side sleepers.

You can pair it with your phone to play the music of your choice. It also has a strap that you can add that goes over your head to prevent the mask from slipping if you’re sitting up. The mask can be easily cleaned, and the battery lasts 20 hours. Of course, to play music non-stop, you would need to have a lengthy playlist on your phone and plug it in, as your phone battery won’t last as long as the mask’s battery.

If you struggle to sleep on airplanes, this just might be the solution. I found the mask to be very comfortable, especially on my sensitive eyes. I’ve never loved sleep masks, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve begun to struggle with jetlag and sleeping on planes. While I haven’t tried it in that situation yet, I have a feeling it could be very helpful to me, based on how relaxing it has been at home. I look forward to using it on a trip when I need to get sleep en route.
